  1. Nice piccy , Cool, more pics DAVE ? Open the pod bay doors dave Hal
  2. I lost a ship the other day and with is all the equipment onboard, but that wasn't a problem. My main problem was that I could not remember how I had all the slots setup. So now I grab a screen shot of the Ship info and of the fittings page and trip/ crop them and paste into this thread for future reference. If you want to do the same, feel welcome to post your ship settings in the same way. Cruiser (Amarr) Battle Cruise (Amarr)
  3. Maybe we can arrange a day trip out? One day when we are all on , we goto 0.3 space and mine and the others could fend off rats and explore the area for stations, prices and resources. Good try to move a fleet of 7+ we could also do some armour & shield testing like MUT, suggested where we drop an item etc.
  4. I agree with Zeno that looks so doggy, I would download the most popular codecs from the net and install prior. XVID latest is 1.1.3 http://www.xvid.org/ Heres my backup folder of all the codecs I ever use, inc old versions
  5. Nice, just the ticket for My new EVE Sig, thanks Medic ! ;)
  6. Industry - Manufacturing your own Guide to T2 Component Production PART 1 - INTRODUCTION 1. Introduction and Overview 2. Moon mining 3. Reactions 4. T2 Construction Components OVERVIEW Producing T2 items is different than T1 production in three ways: 1. T2 "final product" BPOs are very difficult to get. They can be earned from R&D agents, purchased on the Blueprints channel. BPCs can sometimes be purchased from escrow, and in a future patch will be given out as agent rewards. 2. Manufacturing T2 items requires additional skills than those needed to manufacture T1 items. Additional skills are also necessary for T2 BPO research. 3. T2 items require "T2 construction components" in addition to minerals and other mundane materials. These T2 construction components come from player manufactured items created from "moon minerals, and from NPCs. Obtaining a T2 BPO is expensive and a little difficult. Obtaining exactly the one you want will be very tough since they are rare. It appears that T2 BPOs are tightly monitored by CCP, and the number of each in existence is exactly controlled. Only when CCP decides to release more of a specific BPO, or when one is somehow destroyed, are more T2 BPOs "released" via R&D Agents. Often these show up for sale in the blueprints channel where they sell for hundreds of millions to billions of ISK. In most cases, manufacturing a T2 item starts with producing a T1 version of the object. If you are making a ship, you must first build the T1 "base" hull. If you are making ship equipment, you often must start with the T1 "base" equipment equivalent. This T1 "basic" object is then augmented with the addition of T2 construction components (and often a few more minerals) in a second manufacturing process to produce the final T2 product. Manufacturing all T2 items, including the components, requires training in skills not needed for T1 manufacturing. These skills have a prerequisite of Science 5 and either mechanic 5, electronics 5, or engineering 5. These skills are also a requirement for ME and PE research on T2 BPOs. Most of these skills are found under the "science" group of your skills list. The specific skills needed are described on the BP. Once you have the skills and a BP, the only challenging barrier left is the T2 construction components. Some of these components are made by NPCs for purchase, such as construction blocks. But many of the components are made by players. The process of creating T2 components is the focus of this guide. To create T2 components, raw materials are harvester (mined) from a moon using a POS (Player Owned Structure/Station) with a harvesting array. These raw materials are used in a "simple reaction" (at a POS using a medium or "large" reactor) to create alloys/compounds. These alloys/compounds are then used as inputs for "complex reactions" (also at a POS using a "large" reactor)) which create advanced materials. The advance materials are then used in a manufacturing process to create construction components, which are used in creating finished T2 items. Here is an illustration of this process PART 2 - MOON MINING Moon "mining" is the harvesting of raw materials using a POS fitted with one or more harvesting arrays. But the first step is finding a moon with desirable materials. SURVEYING To find what raw materials are on the moon before setting up a POS and harvesting array, you need a ship equipped with a probe launcher. Fly straight toward the moon in question and launch only 1 survey probe. The survey probe description may say you need three probes, but at the time of this writing only one is actually required. Depending on the probe used, in 10-40 minutes the "moons" tab in your scanner window will start showing results, or a message will appearing saying the moon has no materials to exploit. Be careful to avoid moons that already have POS. Existing POS are often set to fire on sight, and accidentally warping to a moon with a POS will get your ship toasted quick. The easiest way to find moons with a POS is fly to a planet, then scan to the distance of the first moon plus about 50,000km (to account for orbit distance). The moons are numbered so that the one closest the the planet is numbered "moon 1". Then next furthest out is "moon 2", etc. By gradually increasing your scan range to include the next moon out plus about 50,000km, you will be able to tell which moons have POS as new control towers become visible in your scan results. Make sure your overview settings are such that they show control towers. For more information and other ideas on Surveying, try these links [OGB]: * Eve Tutor * Eve Forum Thread POS BASICS A POS is constructed at a moon by first deploying a control tower at the moon, anchoring it in space at that moon, and then "onlining" it. An online control tower "burns" fuels and components. If it runs out of fuel or components, it goes offline and offlines all it's fittings. While it is online it projects a force field bubble 30-50km in diameter around it. POS fittings can be anchored in space, and then onlined inside the force field bubble. Like ship fittings, POS fittings use some of the tower's power and CPU when online. The number of fittings and their quality depends on the tower's available CPU and power grid. There are 3 sizes for control towers: small, medium, and "normal" (aka large). Small towers use the least fuel and components, but have the least power grid and CPU. Likewise, "large" POS use the most fuel and components, but have the most CPU and power grid. The burning of fuel and materials occurs in "cycles". Each cycle is 1 hour long. Each of the 4 races has their own control towers. Like ships, there are racial differences between the tower's abilities. Amarr towers, for example, have lots of power grid but very little CPU. POS weaponry tends to use power grid and not CPU. Caldari towers have more CPU and less power grid. Fittings like moon harvesters, silos, reactors, labs, and factories require a great deal of CPU. A small POS can run 1 harvesting array and 1 silo. A medium POS can run 2 harvesting arrays and silos with some CPU left over, or a harvester with a silo and a medium (simple) reactor. A large POS is the only structure that can run a (complex) reactor array. To harvest minerals the POS needs to have a Moon Harvesting Array online. This array gathers raw materials from the moon and places them into either a Silo or a coupling array. A coupling array is a "mini" silo that does not hold very much material. Harvesting arrays gather 100 units of the material every hour. Configuring harvesters, reactors, silos, and coupling arrays occurs through the production tab in the POS management window (access by right clicking the control tower). Launching, configuring, and running a POS is a very complicated subject and not the focus of this guide. For information and ideas about POS, try these links [OGB]: * Eve Forum Thread * PDF Guide * Eve Tutor * POS Excel Spreadsheet RAW MATERIALS Now you know how to find materials on a moon, and how to set up a POS to mine that moon. But which materials are "good"? There are 5 classes of raw materials a moon might have. 1. Gasses: Atmospheric Gases, Evaporate Deposits, Hydrocarbons, Silicates 2. Rarity 8 metals: Cobalt, Scandium, Titanium, Tungsten 3. Rarity 16 metals: Cadmium, Vanadium, Chromium, Platinum 4. Rarity 32 metals: Ceasium, Technetium, Hafnium, Mercury 5. Rarity 64 metals: Promethium, Dysprosium, Neodymium, Thulium Gasses are very common. The "rarity 8" metals (r8) are twice as common as the r16 metals. Likewise, there are half as many moons with r64 metals as those with r32 metals. Below is a table that lists these materials http://www.thebabushka.com/eve-online/
  7. TIME CODES & ISK - BUYING ISK is NOT AGAINST THE RULES EVE Time Code Exchange F.A.Q. What is the Secure Time Code Exchange? The Secure Time Code Exchange (STCE) is a secure method of selling your EVE code for ISK. It works by allowing you to submit your code and price through a secured system that prevents duplicate codes from being sold and prevents ISK form being withheld by a buyer. How do I get to the STCE? Just login to your account at www.eve-online.com. You can find a "Securely Sell Eve Time Code" link located under Account Services. How does the STCE work? The STCE is a secure method for completing your timecode transaction. Those already familiar with negotiating for code-to-ISK trades online won't need to change a thing. You negotiate your trade though familiar methods: forums, in-game, chat channels, etc. Once you've found a buyer for your code, you log into the STCE. Once there, you select the in-game account you're "selling from" and enter the name of the character you're selling to, the code you're selling, and the ISK amount you're selling the code for. The web server validates that the code is legitimate and notifies the buyer through evemail. The buyer then logs into his or her account management page and accepts the purchase. Once the transaction has been accepted, the game transfers the ISK to you and the code to the buyer. The buyer has 48 hours to approve the order. After that time, the order is automatically declined and the code is returned to you. Where can I get an EVE time code to trade for ISK? You can buy EVE codes here. This is a great site that has the lowest EVE code price on the market. They also sell a wide variety of other game time codes. What makes this a safer method of selling EVE GTCs? This method guarantees that the buyer will never buy an invalid code and that the seller will never accidentally sell a code twice. It also ensures that the seller is paid for their code. What if I accidentally sell a code twice? Using this system, you can't accidentally sell a code twice. The website checks to see if the code is valid and if it's been used before. If it has, the sale offer won't be sent to the buyer and you will be informed that your code is invalid. This also helps if you were typing the code by hand and made a mistyping. How long is my offer active? The buyer will be able to accept your offer for up to 48 hours from when you posted the offer. After this time, the offer will be cancelled and you can then sell the code to someone else. What if the buyer doesn't have enough ISK? If the buyer doesn't have enough ISK, they simply cannot complete the transaction. After the 48 hours is up, the order will be cancelled as normal. If the buyer is able to raise the funds during that time, they can complete the transaction on the website. How do I know if the code sold? Your in-game wallet will be fatter. The ISK should be transferred instantly as soon as the buyer finishes the transaction. What if I didn't get my ISK? If your code sold but you no ISK appeared in your wallet, you can contact an EVE Game Master and they will investigate your case as soon as possible. If they confirm you sold a code but didn't get paid, you will be reimbursed. What if I traded a code through email didn't get my ISK? Sorry about that but there's nothing the folks at CCP can do for you. They have no method of verifying the details of your transaction so you will be out an EVE code. The STCE is the official method for this sort of trade and you should avoid alternate forms of trade. If you have a buyer who claims they can't use this method, you should be very suspicious of their intentions. As far as your lost code goes, you might be able to prevent some loss by applying the code right away to your own account. As with any form of selling online, you assume the risk of being cheated. The STCE greatly reduces your risk and you can further minimize your risk by knowing your market. Before selling, make sure to look through both forums to get an idea of what the going exchange rate between Isk and game codes are. Also, spend some time in the EVE Online Marketplace Discussion to understand the accepted process for trading.

Other smaller updates here and there. New cover page, introduction, layout? well, a bunch of new stuff ! http://myeve.eve-online.com/ingameboard.as...threadID=434899 Why you have to be ready when mining 0.0 SPACE IMPORTANT Q & A http://www.evegathering.com/mine.htm Do mining lasers have a optimal range for getting ore faster? The distance from the asteroid while using laser miners does not affect how fast or how much ore you get.It is the same no matter what distance when using Mining lasers. The optimal distance, listed on the mining lasers show info, is how close you have to before the laser will engage and work. Why are some asteroid belts empty or seem like they are? Asteroid belts can be stripped mined and cleaned out or basically "over mined" and appear empty: Look close though and you should see some some tiny asteroids. How often do asteroid belts re-spawn Asteroid Belts re spawn nightly at maintenance. It is not some big jump either and huge rocks appear in space. If the asteroids are completely mined to nonexistence (the asteroid is gone) it could take up to 3-4 days to even see a pebble appear back. Depleting valuable ore (popping the asteroid) in deep space is not a wise thing....if you wish to keep mining the same asteroids very long of a rare ore. But if the asteroid is not depleted it will grow a little each maintenance instead of waiting a few days to even see ore come back yet mine it. There are some VERY LARGE veldspar asteroids out there! How do mining drones work basically for mining? Obtain a mining drone. While in dock put it into your DRONE bay (not your cargo bay). Once you have a mining drone in your cargo bay undock and go to any mining asteroid belt. Target any asteroid you wish to mine. Open your drone bay by expanding out the drone bay menu at the BOTTOM of your overview. Right click "Drones in bay" and choose "launch drones". Once you have launched a drone ( or 3 ) right click the drone and choose "mine repeatedly". You should then see the drone orbiting the asteroid you have targeted. Remember to make sure your in range also as mining drones do have range limitations. After the drone mines for a bit (about 30 sec's) he will return ore to your cargo hold and be off to repeat this cycle. How many differant types of BASIC mining lasers are there? 1. Civilian Mining Lasers - Very low yields - Use anything but this - Given out freely on starter ship. 2. Miner Tech Level 1 - Average yields 3. Named Miner Tech 1 - Average yields with slightly lower fitting requirements 4. Miner Tech Level 2 - Very good yields 5. Deep Core Miner - Used Exclusively to mine "Mercoxite" 6. Ice Miners - Used exclusively to mine Ice Should I just sell the ore or refine it and sell the minerals? Until you have worked on "Industry - Refining" skills, it is best to sell the ore. You will actually be loosing ISK if you sell minerals from ore before at least getting refining skill level three and really it should be at a minimum of level four. Do a little math and you will see it....refine 500 of any ore, and then sell the minerals or check price, and then just sell 500 ore without refining ore and check the price. You can get more for the raw ore, then you can the minerals you get back from refining, because of poor refining skills. Players whom have good refining skills will buy your ore ALL day. Until you have a some refining skills sell your ore out right early on.

  13. Happy New year gang. B4 the sun sets on 2007 in the USA, B4 the networks get jammed & B4 I get too drunk and loose my Internet connection. I'm wishing U a very Happy & Prosperous 2008.
  14. Well done. Banks have to off load $1.5 Trillion of debt to themselves which means big phoo phoo for them and then to there business customers which in turn means bad news for us all. For ever $1 the bank has to cover (in bad debt) it will have $10 less to lend to you me, a company. Meaning if less to lend out then more expensive to get money (loans) more expensive for those with them now (higher loan interest). To give you an idea of the bad debt, $1.5 trillion is the total UK spend for one year, now imagine you lent it to the uk and now writing that off.
  15. I'm off out, be back after midnight so HAPPY NEW YEARS 2008 Australia did it when GMT was 1300 (0800 EST) and the Americans will be doing it in several hours, so I will catch you all tomorrow. Or maybe I will be on in Paralytic mode like Mr & Mrs Floyd I need to spend some money before it becomes worthless...... On a lighter note: Best wishes to you all and lets hope the American sub prime market and prime don't go down the toilet and make 2008 the start of the big flush. I was tracking it all and they estimate, wait for it, 1.5 trillion dollars US is the liability. To put it another way $1500,000,000,000 mostly hidden in SIV's (Structured investment vehicle), imagine bundling alot of loans (mortgages) into a bundle and off loading it onto a third party, now make too many of these and you end up off loading them into a virtual car park for SIV's ( a place where there is no instant buyer). Banks lend around 10x what they can cover (in other words for every $10 they lend they need $1 of investment/ a backer or $1 in the vault). But SIV's were treated as sold items, even that they were parked, now with all the personal-defaults, the SIV's are worthless and the banks take the hit which means they have to cover the debt, so they have less money left, which means they have less to lend to us. It means more expensive loads for the future, if you have a load/ mortgage it means more interest charge and less value on your house (California is seeing around 30-40% less value on property). So happy 2008 ;) $1,000,000,000,000. = $1 trillion $1000,000,000 = billion Now you might say, so what? but what effects A will travel to some extent to B because bank 'B' might be your high street bank.
  16. Nice one, She should be holding other types of weapons that don't kick back Great post..

  18. DATA RECOVERY Ever had a crashed hard drive, an operation system that will not boot, an OS that starts to boot and then resets and boots again and again? The answer is not to reformat your hard drive but to recover the damaged OS, MBR (master boot record) or personal files from the inaccessible drive. How? DATA RECOVERY ==================================== 1. ==================================== Data Recovery Wizard Professional V4.0.1 http://www.easeus.com/datarecoverywizardpro/index.htm This little beauty is one of a small handful of high level utilities that can do the trick. --------------------------- The SECRET is to unplug the inaccessible drive from the machine and plug it into a second machine either on PATA (parallel ATA) or SATA (Serial ATA) depending on type and then use this program to access it. It can access drives that are recognised by your BIOS but nothing else. When can you do this? * Hard Drives that have been formatted. * Corrupt or missing critical file system structures. * Accidental file deletion. * File loss without reason. * Unexpected system shutdown or application failure. * Computer viruses and worms infection or corruption. * Boot-up problems. * Partition structures are damaged or deleted. * Damage due to a power failure or surge. * The new version enhanced supportability for Windows Vista * Recover files from devices with unknown file systems including Hard Disk, external ZIP/USB drive, removable SmartMedia, MemoryStick, SD cards, etc.. I have done this a number of times and again for a family friend this Christmas, the procedure is simple and takes about 2 hours on an 80Gb drive with 50Gb of data NTFS(longer with more data). This includes backing up the corrupted drive before trying to fix it too.
